Top Dog

Here he is...the All-League champion for 75 pounds. Carson not only went undefeated for the season, he won every reagular season match by pin. I think he only gave up 4 points all season. During the All-league tourney, he wrestled 3 great matches. His first one (the only match all year where he didn't win by pin) was won 9-0. The other two were pins. All this was accomplished with having a dislocated middle finger on the right hand, which might require hand surgery. He is going to the hand surgeon on Monday.
Anyway, we are pretty proud of this guy and this will definitely make it on the "Graham Top Ten List for 2008". Great job, Carson.

Actually the injury occurred last Monday at practice. We were pretty sure that it was broken then, but felt that if we took him in prior to Saturday he would be restricted from wrestling. So we made the decision to wait--you know the premise "ignorance is bliss". Turns out he tore at least one tendon. He sees the physical therapist tomorrow to be put in a Figure 8 block splint and then sees the hand surgeon Monday.

Oh how exciting! All three of my brothers wrestled from the time they were five up through college! The hours I have spent watching matches would probably add up to YEARS of my life. I loved it though.

They have a step for 4th place? That seems so odd to me. If they have a step for 4th place they should have a step for 5th to make things even. But 5 trophies is probably a lot to give out so they really should just stick with three.
